On 18 February 2016, NLG Holland became a dealer for Poortershaven. This company is located in Rotterdam and supplies soil-improving minerals. The dealership extends to bulb growers in the north of North Holland. It concerns three products: BioLit sand, Coccolith lime, and Leonardite. NLG Holland has been using the Poortershaven products for a longer period of time now. BioLit, Coccolith Lime, and Leonardite are natural materials. They improve the structure of the soil, as well as the bulbs and plants growing in it.
On 21 January last, NLG Holland won the Martien Zandwijk Award for the most sustainable flower bulb farm. The prize is awarded to a company that is active in the field of the improvement, growth, forcing, trade, or retail of flower bulbs. The company has to work in an innovative manner on sustainability and spread the word in the field.
The thirty-sixth Spring Garden event was recently held in Breezand. Two members of the NLG Holland cooperative participated in this flower bulb show. Bloembollenkwekerij M.C. Zonneveld B.V. and Bloembollenkwekerij Gebroeders Hulsebosch represented the cooperative with a number of products. Gebroeders Hulsebosch received an award for best Lily L.A. Hybrid.
